Chief Designer - Pei Shuen

When Pei Shuen was preparing for her wedding day, she searched everywhere in her home town Ipoh for a beautiful wedding cake but she found none meeting her dream. With little time left and not wanting to go without one in one of the most important days of her life, she decided to take up the challenge and embarked on making her own wedding cake - a daring attempt for a bride-to-be. Several attempts and countless nights of researching and reading later, her dream's wedding cake was created.

Little did she know during the journey she discovered her passion in life and ultimately develop into a career which would see her becoming one of the highly sought-after cake designers in Singapore.

Since young, Pei Shuen's flair for art was apparent in her interests in drawing, painting, dancing and Chinese calligraphy. She was no doubt a star student of her famous teachers, having won numerous top prizes and awards in various national events. Of course, cooking was her passion too. She loves experimenting with food and has an impressive mouth-watering collection of recipes for Chinese, Malay, Thai, Western and various cuisines.

Pei Shuen's creative talents can be seen from her real-life looking handcrafted sugar flowers. Her splendour figurines and sculptured cakes coupled with artistic use of colours, often create eye-catching cakes and received many compliments from customers and their guests.

Some of her most memorable cakes include an Alice In Wonderland themed cake incorporated with gold dust ejecting from the hat of Mad Hatter, a castle cake (2ft x 2ft) lighted with LED lights, a tea table completed with lightings, bird sounds and smoke effect and a 3D car cake lighted with front and back lights.

Her work was featured regularly in newspapers, radio and TV in Singapore. Tatler Weddings, Wedding & Travel, Style : Weddings and Female Brides Magazine have all featured Pei Shuen in their pages.
