We will like to share a little of our difficulties in handling last minute orders.

Personalised cakes are very demanding, for the fact that every cakes are different and there are many decorations need to be crafted in order to fully dress up a cake.

We sometimes have last minute requests from customers who seem to be very keen, attended consultations and verbally confirmed with us and told me that they will make a payment when reached home. However, some of the customers just made their promises without honouring them, they did not even contact us to inform that they wish to cancel their orders because they decided to take the offer from another baker. We already proceeded with some preparations and shoppings for their cakes, and we ended up with forgoing other potential orders and throwing aways the decorations that have been prepared. If we do not proceed with any preparations, if customer makes a payment one or two days before the due date, we are having too short of time to prepare.

We have quite a few similar encounters lately, two customers resolved with us but one other just granted another promise to pay a compensation but the promise is not honoured again.

I am very disappointed with empty promise of such and decided to introduce a new rule that any last minute order (10 days notice or shorter) must be paid in full upon consultation by cash only. We do not accept internet or ATM transfer or cheque payment on last minute orders.

We've just completed a barnyard themed cake, our customers had made a special request on 3 cows, baba cow reading the newspaper while mama cow is sitting with baby cow and baby cow is drinking milk milk, sounds like a lots of fun isn't it!

Chipmunks made such a great hit with their movies, young kids are just crazy about them. When we received customer's request of doing a concert on the chipmunk theme we were wondering if it is possible for the customer to provide some figurines as we do not mold copyrighted characters. The answer is yes, and a total of 6 figurines were shipped from the UK just for the little girl's party!

Theme colours chosen were pink, purple and little black. The chipettes got the prime spots this time! Thanks to Mrs Scho for sharing with us the joy with your little guests, we feel very happy for them too!!

Our customers attended a consultation together with their son, they wanted to do a super hero themed cake and provided me with a number of figurines. However, the little birthday boy insisted that Ben10 must be on, haha... that's how Ben10 joined the Super Heroes to celebrate his 5th birthday!

We had a request from a gamer to make a cake for his friend's birthday party. Selected character was his friend's favourite character, Pudge The Butcher from DotA (Defend of the Ancient, Warcraft 3).

The little black chick represents Nevermore The Shadow Fiend got stunned and hexed. Both figurines were handcrafted with play dough, they made the perfect keepsake to the birthday person.

Cake serves approx. 10pax, it was a chocolate sponge cake layered with dark chocolate ganache and blueberry filling.

Carebears are sweet and kind, this is an everlasting impression that carebears casted to me. My customer fell in love with our earlier design on carebear theme and would love to do one for her daughter's one year old party. She needed a smaller cake hence decided to do a single tier.

We too incorporated some candies because that are commonly found in the cartoon too, yum yum!
Special remark: All carebear figurines were provided by customer.

Our customers were doing a mickey mouse theme. However, they wanted the theme to be incorporated in an understated way, mainly through the play of mickey theme colours. The birthday boy was born in the year of ox, therefore we also made him a little cowboy scaft!

Our customer gained her idea from one of our earlier designs published on special treats gallery, however, she did a smaller version of two tier because she has a smaller guest list.

Our customer called to order 30 mini cupcakes with individual packing for a 3 year old boy. She does not specify a theme in particular but just want the cupcakes to be decorated in a way that 3 year old would feel interested. We believe 3 year old is the right age to feel curious and interested with animals, and here are how the cupcakes turned out:

Elmo and the sesami street characters are very dear to young children. In this case, our customer fell in love with one of our earliest designs (on our website - special treats gallery) and would love a similar one for her son's 2year old birthday party. They had about 10pax and the cake did not have a layer of fondant like most of our occasion cakes, instead, it was frosted with a layer of delicious dark chocolate ganache.

Thanks to Senali who also dropped us a small note on the next day of her party that everyone enjoys the chocolate cake, most happy of all, the birthday boy "was over the moon with his elmo cake"!! That really made my day!

Hello Kitty is an all time favourite theme for little girl's party. Our customer would love her cake to be done in fresh cream sponge cake this time, for 20pax. She loves contrast and bright colours and selected theme colours were pink, purple, red and blue. We hope they had a great fun with the cake

Coming is a mini cupcake setup that we did for Ethan, who celebrated his one year old birthday on the 10th July. Our customer sent us a picture of a car (looks like a futuristic design) that she wanted to be molded onto the top tier. There were 80 pieces mini cupcakes to form the setup and all were decorated in the same theme.

As promised, today we will try to catch up with recent cake designs.

The first photo that I wish to share featured a wedding cupcake setup that we delivered on 3rd of July. The setup consists of 100 pieces of mini cupcake.

Our customer was too busy to drop by our shop hence most correspondences were done through emails. However, she knows very well on what she wants, through mails, she explained to me which is the colours that adore her daughter (the bride) and which is the flowers that they wish to appear onto the mini cupcakes. They had a purple theme and chose to engage their own florist to do the fresh flower topper on the setup.

Thanks for their careful coordinations, the designs and colours of cupcakes blended very well with the floral topper. Attached is a photo shared by the mummy of the bride.
