Pricing
Generally, bakeries price their cakes by kilo. Cherylshuen however, price our cakes by number of pax.
When size/ dimension remains the same, a 6inch dia round fondant cake may weigh heavier than a 6inch dia round fresh cream-sponge cake. Icing too, may cause a cake to weigh heavier. For example, a 6inch dia round cake layered with chocolate ganache icing is heavier than a 6inch dia round cake layered with chocolate whipped cream. So long the size of cake is the same, cakes of different density (weight) may be cut into equivalent number of cake pieces.
Therefore, customers are encouraged to estimate the required number of pax so that we could recommend the size of cake tiers that meet their needs.
There are times customers may comment that we price higher than other bakers, there are times where customers may tell us that our cakes are expensive. Kindly note that different bakers may be working on a different operating costs and material costing. Besides material costs, Cherylshuen spends long labour hours into decorating our cakes (this is clearly reflected in craftmanship demonstrated in our creations).
We developed our own way of pricing cakes, therefore, we will not refer to other bakers' pricing in our quotations. It is reasonable to compare prices but we wish our effort and experties in designing and styling cakes be respected too.
In order to be fair, Cherylshuen does not negotiate on pricing. Cake orders that have been booked with payment will not be affected by price increment that took place later.
We charge a doorstep delivery of SGD30.00 per destination regardless the value of orders. Alternatively, customers may pick up their cakes from our shop at West Coast Drive at their own preferred time.
